Canva Export Instructions for Print Quality

Exporting Your Design for Printing

Please follow these steps to ensure your artwork prints correctly and at the highest quality.

Step 1 — Download as a PDF

In Canva:

1. Click Share (top right corner)
2. Select Download
3. Under File Type, choose:

PDF Print

This provides the best print quality and preserves resolution.

Step 2 — Flatten the PDF

Before uploading your file for printing, please make sure the PDF is flattened.

Flattening:

• Combines all layers, transparencies, and effects into one printable file
• Prevents missing fonts, shifting graphics, or printing errors
• Helps ensure colors and images print correctly

If your PDF is not flattened, printing issues may occur.

Step 3 — Resize Large Designs Before Uploading

For very large signs or banners, please scale your artwork down before uploading.

Recommended ratios:

• 1/2 scale (50%)
• 1/4 scale (25%)

Examples:

• 48" × 96" banner → upload at 24" × 48" or 12" × 24"
• 24" × 36" poster → upload at 12" × 18"

Please keep proportions exactly the same when resizing.

Important Notes

• Keep all images high resolution
• Avoid screenshots whenever possible
• Make sure fonts are embedded or flattened
• Leave bleed/safe margins if applicable
